Day 1: Tuesday 26 December 17 / Homeport

Day 2: Wednesday 27 December 17 / Cairo                                       

Upon arrival at Cairo Airport you will be met by one of our representatives and transported in style to our luxury hotel. There you can freshen up and relax in the hotel, before getting ready to explore the wonders of Cairo. Dinner will be served followed by an overnight stay. (D)


Evening Option: Sound & Light Show Cairo/ Pyramids & Sphinx ($75 per person)

The intriguing combination of a modern light and laser show combined with the ancient history of Egypt makes for an entertaining evening. Hear the Sphinx telling the story of Egypt as seen through his eyes throughout the many millenniums, as the pyramids and skies are lit up with multi coloured lights.


Day 3: Thursday 28 December 17 / Cairo 

After crossing the long and winding Nile River to the ancient necropolis Saqqara, you can stand in awe at the foot of the oldest stone structure in the world – the Step Pyramid. The secrets of this forgotten world are still buried under the desert sands and exciting new discoveries are being excavated every day. This afternoon it’s time to witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Great Pyramid located in the Giza district. Be sure to stop at the foot of the Sphinx and unravel the riddle of Man. Day 4: Friday 29 December 17 / Cairo - Aswan 

Early breakfast and hotel check out we then head to Cairo domestic airport to board our flight to Abu Simbel. EXTRA TOUR BONUS - Abu Simbel is a temple built by Ramses II in ancient Nubia, where he wished to demonstrate his power and his divine nature. One of the most magnificent monuments in the world, its removal and reconstruction was an historic event in itself. We then transfer to the airport to board our flight to Aswan. Aswan is one of the most scenic locations along the Nile River where the Nile meanders around scattered botanical islands and rocky cataracts. Upon arrival we will embark our Luxury 5 Star Cruise Ship, our home for the next 3 nights. After lunch we visit the Aswan High Dam followed by a motorboat ride to the magnificent Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis. Before dinner enjoy a welcome cocktail on the cruise. Overnight. Day 5: Saturday 30 December 17 / Aswan – Kom Ombo – Edfu via Esna/ Nile Cruise

This morning we set sail to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival we into Kom Ombo we visit the Temple shared by the two Gods; Sobek and Haroeris. We then enjoy lunch on board as we continue sailing to Edfu. Here we visit the second largest and best preserved Temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus. This evening we sail to Luxor via the Esna lock. Dinner and overnight on cruises (B, L, D)


Day 6: Sunday 31 December 17 / Luxor Nile Cruise   (New years eve)

Luxor is the world’s greatest open-air museum, filled with the awe-inspiring monuments of an ancient civilization, after breakfast we will be taken across the Nile to the West Bank to visit the Necropolis of Thebes which was the capital of Egypt during the period of the Middle and New Kingdoms. Continue our journey to the Valley of the Kings. This is where the pharaohs were buried and believed to meet their God in the afterlife. We then carry through to the most beautiful temple of Royalty, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and end our day at the Colossi of Memnon which consists of two massive stone statues built to guard a temple which no longer exists. This afternoon after lunch we will have a chance to discover Egypt’s largest temple- The Temple Complex of Karnak and the Luxor Temple known as the Southern Shrine. Get ready for an evening of fun and entertainment as we see in the New Year with a Galabia party. A Galabia is a traditional Egyptian dress. It’s your opportunity to dress like an Egyptian for the night. Happy New Year. (B, L, D).  


Day 7: Monday 01 January 18 / Luxor - Hurghada  

Breakfast on board this morning before check out. Your 2018 will begin with some much needed R&R. This morning we travel by coach to your luxury resort in Hurghada. The seaside resort provides you an excellent opportunity to relax in the sun. You can spend your day lounging on the golden sands, diving down to see the coral treasures of the Red Sea or enjoying the resorts shopping and entertainment facilities. All meals, drinks and local spirits are included. (B.D)


Early Morning Optional: Hot Air Balloon Luxor ($190 per person)

Glide majestically over the temples and burial grounds on the Pharaohs with tranquillity and peace. See this spectacular landscape from the unique viewpoint which only hot air ballooning can provide.

Day 8: Tuesday 02 January 18 / Hurghada

The day is your own to spend at leisure. For those who want to relax you can spend your day immersed in the resort facilities. If you are feeling the urge to explore further you can discover the wonders of the Red Sea, with warm and welcoming temperatures and clear visibility it is the perfect location to take up a spot of diving. All meals, drinks and local spirits are included. (B.L.D)


Day 9: Wednesday 03 January 18 / Hurghada

Another perfect day at leisure, you can take the time to swim in the pool, sunbathe on the beach, or snorkel down to discover the wonders beneath the Red Sea. There are a full range of activities you can choose from including local shopping, entertainment and water sports. All meals, drinks and local spirits are included. (B.L.D)

Day 10: Thursday 04 January 18 / Hurghada – Alexandria via Cairo

Early morning check out after breakfast for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, we travel by coach to the beautiful city of Alexandria. On the way we will stop at El Alamein, a historic World War Two battleground located on the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea. You can visit the War Museum and see fascinating collections from ‘The Civil War’, followed by a special visit to the Australian Cemetery before moving onwards towards Alexandria. Upon arrival you can make yourself at home in our next luxury hotel. (B, D)


Day 11: Friday 05 January 18 / Alexandria

Alexandria, also known as the Jewel of the Mediterranean, is distinguished by its strategic location, moderate climate and its beautiful fine sandy beaches.  After breakfast we have a full day of touring this beautiful city. You will begin your day visiting Pompey’s Pillar which was constructed in honour of the Emperor Diocletian and is the biggest memorial column in Egypt. The Catacombs is next which was discovered in the 1900’s by pure chance when a donkey drawn cart fell into a pit. Continue onto the grand and impressive Roman-Graeco Theatre. Over 30 years of excavation have led to the discovery of many Roman remains including this well-preserved theatre with marble seats for up to 800 spectators, galleries and sections of mosaic-flooring. Finish sightseeing in Alexandria with a tour of the newly completed Great Library. This library was built after the destruction of the old library by a fire which ravaged Alexandria. (B.D)

Day 12:  Saturday 06 January 18 / Alexandria - Cairo

After breakfast and hotel checkout you will travel back to Egypt’s capital city, Cairo. Hotel check in with some free time to freshen up. This afternoon there will be an opportunity for those eager shoppers hoping to seek out a bargain at the lively Khan el Khalil open air market. Here you can find plenty of local treasures from Egyptian gold to rich spices and sweet perfumes. (B.D)


EXTRA TOUR BONUS - Afternoon free optional excursion As a participant of this tour, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. Top Tours & Travel will contribute $50 per person booked to an orphanage in Cairo. (You will not be required to pay any additional funds on your tour). This afternoon we will visit both a girls and boys orphanage where you will be able to give presents of clothing, toys and other essential items. As Christmas is celebrated on the 7th January 2018 in Egypt, these presents will be given at the perfect time to make a difference.


Day 13:  Sunday 07 January 18 / Cairo

The city of Cairo is marked by the traditions and influences of the east and the west, the ancient and the modern. After breakfast, we will begin our tour in old Cairo where we will visit the Citadel and the famous Mosque of Muhammad Ali who was the energetic governor of Egypt under the Ottoman sultans from 1805 to 1848. This mosque represents just one of the many projects commenced by Muhammad Ali.  We will also get a glimpse of the Coptic part of Cairo. This afternoon we will continue onto the Egyptian Museum which is filled with over 120,000 Pharaonic artifacts. Pride of the collection is the artefacts recovered from Tutankhamen’s tomb, as well as excellent pieces from every period of ancient Egyptian history. (Please note: Entering the mummies room at the Museum is at your own cost). Back to Hotel to freshen up before heading out on a farewell dinner cruise on the Nile. (B.D)


Day 14: Monday 08 January 18/ Cairo - Homeport

Back to our hotel for final check out. This afternoon it’s time to leave the land of ancient mythology and mysticism behind. Please refer to your flight itinerary for flight details. (B)


Day 15: Tuesday 09 January 18 / Homeport

Arrive home.
